The embassy has jurisdiction over
the following areas:
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas.
If you are not resident in one of these areas, you must
make your application to an alternative Indian Mission.
Consulate General of India, NY: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virgin Islands.
Embassy of India, Washington DC: Bahamas, Bermuda, Delaware,
District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Consulate General of India, Chicago: Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South
Dakota, Wisconsin.
Consulate General of India, San Francisco: Alaska, Arizona,
California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska,
New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
Application forms must be fully completed and signed,
and presented with
1. Passport, valid for a minimum of six months
2. Two photographs
3. Non US passport holders should submit proof of long-term
stay (at least three years) or permanent residence (copy
of green card) in the United States
4. Non US residents must fill out the Clearance Form
